Global Plans vs. Regional Plans
Soracom provides multicarrier connectivity with failover between carrier towers in urban and rural areas across the globe. The most common plan is a global-SIM with global coverage.
Global Plans
This route eliminates the need to pick and choose regional carriers, write code, or maintain multiple product SKUs for different regions. Global SIM/eSIMs come ready to cover 174 countries. Global SIMs are ready to automatically switch between carriers whether moving between regions or reacting to an outage or loss of signal.
Regional Plans
Staying local? Regional SIMs/eSIMs unlock local carrier profiles for select regions across the globe with the same cross-carrier failover that automatically ensures devices stay connected when more than one carrier has coverage in the places your devices are deployed.
Non-Negotiated Self-Service Plans
Self-Service plans (also known as Developer plans) can get you and your teams testing and evaluating Soracom’s multicarrier connectivity and on-demand platform services without any delays or having to know exactly how much data your devices will use each month. Sign up online, order and activate SIMs, connect devices, and move at your own pace.

Each month you’ll get charged for the data that all active SIMs consume. The advantage is that no SIM lifecycle management is required, no plan juggling, and you’ll not worry about any overage charges. This keeps everything simple.
Pooled Data Plan
Pooled data plans use a set amount of data shared among a group of devices, each with its own SIM. This takes the variability out of billing and helps balance data consumption across a fleet of devices with a predictable monthly fee.
