SORACOM IoT Platform is Now Available in the U.S

We founded the SORACOM IoT platform with a simple but ambitious goal: to use the technology we have today to bring about a more connected world tomorrow. Since we announced our first service just over a year ago, we have built steadily toward this goal, and today we have achieved a major milestone with the announcement of our launch in the U.S.
SORACOM is the market-leading platform for cloud-native IoT connectivity. Thousands of customers, from small startups to large enterprises, are already using our secure, scalable platform, to create new experiences across industries, and hundreds of certified partners are already working together to design, build, measure, and optimize increasingly advanced IoT experiences.

Our customers, partners, and team are already global, and our IoT connectivity solution, SORACOM Air, is already available in 120 countries worldwide. SORACOM Air (“Air”) is a service that provides Air SIM, a data communications SIM card intended specifically for IoT devices.

In the detailed screen of each SIM, when the base station information can be obtained, it is possible to display the position on the map and display the session information.

Today, the entire suite of SORACOM services, encompassing a full range of solutions for secure, scalable, cloud-native connectivity, is available in the United States.
For example, SORACOM Beam enables optimizing device power consumption and processing needs with on-the-fly resource offloading and connection to cloud services. SORACOM Canal is VPC peering for end-to-end security between your connected devices and your AWS Virtual Private Cloud. SORACOM Funnel is secure, SDK-free adapter for cloud services including Amazon Kinesis and Amazon Kinesis Firehose. I’m glad to say that many of our current customers are already taking advantage of this new deployment, and we’re looking forward to meeting many more as we put down roots in the U.S. We now have a full-time U.S. office in Palo Alto, and I’m writing this from the show floor at AWS re:Invent.
AWS re:invent is always a special show for me, since I learned much of what I know about scalable self-service systems in my time with AWS.
